3 months.
That's how long its been since I've last posted. I'll be posting more in the future, if for nothing else than to convince myself that I have the werewithal to continue something that I've started.
What's new ? Had a great summer. Still in school. I'll be finished in 4 weeks, and I am excited about that. I started my own business; registered a domain, paid for a year's worth of webhosting and registered with the Federal gov't. I am extremely excited about that.
Things that seem to be important in my life right now: My wife, my dog, watching Favre and the pack, catching Enterprise every Wednesday, and reading books that I've always wanted to read and never made the time.
Here are a few of my latest reads/rereads:
- William Gibson - Neuromancer - It was only called cyberpunk after this great book came out. One of the best reads I've had in a long time. Can't wait to read more of him. And btw, if your a Trinity fan, you won't have to look far to see her first incarnation as Molly. Really good book.
- Walter Tevis - Mockingbird - Found this again after reading it when I was just a little punk, maybe 13. My favorite book. Dystopian, harsh, and not a bad version of what might happen to us down the road if we're not careful.
- John Wyndham - Chrysalids - A reread from high school. Really good book. How much can be learned about a person by the books he/she reads ?
- George Orwell - 1984 - Very bleak. Dystopian. Unsettling.
- Ray Bradbury - Fahrenheit 451 - The dangers of complacency are well-illustrated here. Should be required reading for every high school.
- Taking the Red Pill - Glenn Yeffeth (ed) - This exploration of the Matrix is simply amazing. Absolute must read for anyone who has spent anytime at all contemplating the nature of reality. Great discourse brought about by a truly great movie.
So I'll try to jack myself in more often than I have been. Link, I need an exit....
