do owls hoot at night or in the daytime? I can't remember.

Wednesday, September 29, 2004

Ok, so its 2:20 am and I'm up, sitting at my pc again, feeling like a night owl. I am also reminded that my sleep habits haven't really changed much from high school, or maybe earlier: When I have the option of staying up really late, I take it. I have always thought that I was at my most productive after midnight. Though if the quality of my typing at this time of night is any indication, I could be wrong. haha.

Been busy tonight.

Superwife went to bed at an insanely early time, asleep in front of the tv by 9:30, up in bed by 10:00. She's too funny, because she was really struggling to make it tonight. She's like a little kid sometimes. One of the more endearing things I love about her. Whether that's 'cause I myself have the mentality (or is that maturity?) of a child is something I'll leave for others smarter than I to decide.

Busy, you ask?

Watched the movie Hackers tonight. Pretty crappy computer geek movie. Angelina Jolie was in it and that was probably what got me through the whole thing. That took me to midnight. And then I got a real treat.

I had just stepped outside for a little puff of fresh air and I was still out there when the storm that had been threatening all day began with a thunderous roar. It started pouring down almost immediately, and after a few minutes began to get really loud and really bright, with flashes of lightning illuminating the sky every few seconds. I even stood in it for a moment, letting the cool drops run down my face and bare chest as the bottoms of my feet languished in a small puddle on the deck. It was spectacular. I came upstairs and brought my good mood with me, opened the window and put in some yoga, mostly meditating and listening to the rain.

Since then, I've thrown yet another logo proposal together for my sister's eBay company (I'm numbering my iterations as go, and I'm at 7 with no end in sight), ripped a few CDs that I'm going to get rid of, most notably the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performing 'Classic Police'. It is every bit as shitty as it sounds and makes me laugh every time I listen to it.

Anything else? Hmm, read and responded to an email from my Dad, whom I haven't spoken to since April, nor seen since the end of last November. That one's a blog for another day, but I feel the need to write that I am glad that I got a few things off of my chest.

Anything else new? Well, Superwife and I bought a new bed today, one which looks to be much better than the current workbench, mangled boxspring and paint-can-supported as it is. Its getting delivered Thurs and I can't wait to sleep in it. Haha, I feel so old writing that down. Funny how the things that give you a thrill change over time eh?

Well, there are worse things I could be spending time thinking about.
