return to flight

So things have been pretty quiet lately. I'll look back on this period of my life (indeed, all of my life 'pre-baby') as the calm before the biggest storm I'll likely see come my way. Superwife is now over 7 months, or 31 lunar weeks to be medical. She looks great and is healthy and so is the baby, so we couldn't be much happier with the way things are going. We go to our first prenatal class tomorrow, and I'm sure I'll blog some about that afterwards. Be good to talk to some guys paddling in the same metaphorical boat as me.
We've been reading books and playing music to the baby in utero for a few months now, and while some might consider playing orchestrated Star Trek child abuse, the baby seems to like it. At no time does the baby get more active than when I put the headphones on Superwife's belly. It's very cool.
So the new site for the relaunch of the Space Shuttle Discovery has just been unveiled and it kicks serious ass. I guess the idea that people are still uneasy about spaceflight after what happened to Columbia convinced the powers that be to try harder to sell the space program. So they did. And they enlisted the help of starship Captain Jonathan Archer to help them out. Makes for a really good web site. And the Star Trek sound effects they borrowed for the flash site is a nice homage.
