and the love affair with Billie Piper continues
Friday, December 30, 2005

Awhile ago I blogged about the remake of the Doctor Who series, and what it meant for me to be able to relive one of the best things I remember about my childhood; completely losing myself in a tv show that had absolutely nothing to with reality, and was in fact, kind of ridiculous. What with the cheap sets and the silly aliens, and all of that regenerating.
I have gone on record as saying that not only do I watch the new series, but I love it. Its camp and fun and everything that the old series was, only on a much bigger budget.
What it also has is Billie Piper.
And I’ve written a fair bit about her already too.
Apparently, she’s something of a pop superstar across the pond, but I grabbed a couple of her songs off of kazaa awhile back, and I didn’t see the appeal. Maybe she’s one of those popstars with all the teenybopper fans.
Either way, it changes nothing.
She’s still one of the greatest things to happen to scifi in a long time. (sorry Trish Helfer fans).
So if you haven’t seen Doctor Who and The Christmas Invasion (and the aforementioned Ms. Piper in it), you should torrent it straight away, because it was really great, and it is yet another reminder that we’re in a golden age of scifi these days. Battlestar Galactica returning this January, and the Superman Returns movie coming out this spring are a few others.
Oh yeah, and Trinity’s first Christmas was great, lots of fun had by all, etc etc.
I wonder what it will take for me to make her a Doctor Who fan?
