So I have had my two new favourite toys for just over a week now, and now that I am almost finished working a week of nights, I am finally going to get to play with them. By toys, I mean my HP laptop sent to replace the one that died a horrible death from motherboard failure (twice) and the Asus Eee I bought as a backup for when (not if!) my new HP experiences a similar fate.
The new HP does run a lot better than the old one though, and it has an unnecessarily large screen, all the better to watch movies on (read:porn). The thing is 17 inches, and something in the neighbourhood of 10 lbs or so. Its more of a gigantic paperweight than a portable, but I guess that's what the Eee is for. I am planning on finally getting in on an MMO on it this weekend (City of Heroes!), even though I have always said that the only way I would ever have had time to play one would be after Superwife divorces me. (Which hopefully won't be happening anytime soon). We’ll see how that goes.

Well I'm reading your inane bullshit Raistlin.
And for the record I get shit for my anti-Linux views too. I took my little buddy to work after setting her up at home (also with XP)and my friend Yoshi looked at me like I said Janeway was better than Kirk.
Hey at least that means someone is paying attention. Course as the title of my blog suggests, at least some of the time I believe that no one else is real.
And you have no idea how much I appreciated the Janeway/Kirk comment. I am a hardcore Trek fan, so I admit to laughing my balls off harder than might be expected. And for the record, Janeway sucked.
Good to see your blog is back up, for awhile every time we tried to access it, the page would never load.
And I'm glad you can indulge in your nerdiness with shiny, new objects of affection. Who knew such lifeless items could bring us such joy?
That's news to me that my blog was down. My host was moving to new servers but I didn't know there was any downtime. Those bastards.
And it is the joy that we get out of our lifeless items that defines us as modern humans I think. Most people nowadays get more out of their interaction with electronic devices than they do with other people. Sad but true, except if you're an anti-social jerk like me, and then its just true, and not so sad.
